SEASON 3 of my podcast Bibliotherapy with Bijal Shah has just launched! In this season, we have lots of exciting things lined up for you, including conversations with other podcasters and literary folk in this space. It's Women's History Month this March as well so I will definitely be sharing tons of literature around women's history and also female empowerment, a subject really close to my heart. I attended London Book Fair (LBF2025) a couple of weeks ago, so I cannot wait to share recommendations of upcoming books and new releases, and my top picks, for therapeutic literature across fiction and nonfiction that I was lucky enough to stumble across at the fair.

I'll also be covering helpful literature on neurodiversity and also talk about why readers are so drawn to the romantasy genre from a therapeutic perspective, as well as the power of the children's graphic novel, both of which are having a big moment right now. And lastly, we recently launched our Group Bibliotherapy Skills online course, so we'll also be talking about the power of group bibliotherapy and how shared experience using literature is so valuable. I cannot wait to share all of these nuggets with you, I hope you enjoy the listens! ❤

And now without further ado , I’d love to introduce the first episode, a conversation with Stephanie Affinito, where we discuss the role of literary journaling and reflective practice in bibliotherapy. So I really hope you enjoy my conversation with Stephanie, and I always welcome your comments, emails and thoughts.

My Conversation with Stephanie Affinito, Literac y Coach, Bookologist and Host of the Get Lit(erate) Podcast

STEPHANIE:

Hey everyone. I'm Stephanie Host and head Ologist here at the Get Literate Podcast. I'm a book loving notebook recording, reader and writer on a mission to change lives, one book and one notebook at a time. On this podcast, we explore the power of ology. What's that? That's the study of books and reading and notebooks and writing.

Mixed with mindful practices and creativity to create lives we love. Here you'll find episodes exploring the reading and writing life and how they can make our actual lives better. You'll get book recommendations and notebooking prompts around particular themes, and you'll even hear from authors and special guests who can fuel our reading and writing hearts.

And help us take inspired action in our own daily practices. So grab a notebook and your TBR list and let's get literate.

Today, I'm back with another episode on how reading and writing can make life better.
